You will also improve your communications skills, which are so important when working with others to complete a construction project. Numerous site visits are also undertaken throughout the first two years of the programme. This programme is very practical and you will learn a lot about the planning and organisational techniques used in the construction industry, with particular emphasis on the use of up-to-date methods of construction design and management. The final year of the programme focuses on current theory and practice in the building refurbishment and maintenance management sectors. It emphasises the effective use and protection of buildings and the protection of the environment in the long-term.
